The process of biofeedback is a method which employs special, non invasive instruments that are attached to the body to ‘feed back’ information that helps an individual correct given conditions.

A good, everyday example would be the use of a mirror to help with makeup or combing hair – the mirror is a biofeedback device. When treatment includes the brain it is known as EEG Biofeedback or Neurofeedback. Practice is essential and will help create lasting, beneficial behaviors.

Improving your own ability to ‘regulate’ any of these conditions (poor breathing, excessive muscle tension, beneficial changes in heart rate, an over-anxious or depressed brain, etc.) can improve your long-term health. The basic approach to this is:

1) Increasing awareness of the origin of body or brain discomfort.
2) Learning to change the responses through monitoring.
3) Mastering and changing the condition.

Neurofeedback is a form of Biofeedback that relies on observing, monitoring and learning how to alter brain activity, where the principles of Biofeedback generally apply to the body as a whole.

Neurofeedback employs special sensors that are attached to the head to record brain functioning, which then ‘feed back’ information about its activity to help the individual correct conditions that may be experienced.

Changes in brain wave patterns can be readily felt and experienced, while observed on instruments, usually projected onto monitors or computer screens.

This form of ‘feedback’ treatment is known as EEG Biofeedback or Neurofeedback — a means by which an individual can learn to modulate of self-regulate brain activity.

The BioNeuroHealth™ approach is a unique treatment, making seemingly complex subjects more understandable by addressing attention to mind/body balance. BNH™ combines both the principles of Biofeedback and Neurofeedback with comprehensive training to accomplish a more complete Body-Brain Balance.

By addressing day-to-day struggles with mental, cognitive, emotional and physical symptoms, ranging from dysfunctional relationships to physical, chronic pain that disrupt daily functioning, patients acquire skills, with the aide of essential feedback, for managing symptoms by establishing a level of control through behavioral self-regulation.

With this improved ability to handle symptoms of discomfort through a greater attention to mind-body balance, clients gain confidence in their ability to maintain personal balance, a sense of self-control, well-being and self worth – the true essence of bio-neuro health.
